Town with 16000 inhabitants, Jaca is located on a hill, overlooking the Rio Aragon 140 km north of Zaragoza and 110 km east of Pamplona. Lovely position where the Camino de Santiago and the ancient Via del Bearn de Zaragoza cross, making Jaca a mixture of cultures and an enclave of medieval civilisations. Sporting activities: mountain races, mountain climbing, rafting.

There are several worthwhile excursions from Jaca: on foot up the 1769 m high Pena de Oroel (3 hours), to the 1080 m high view point Puerto de Oroel, to the cloister of San Juan de la Pena or into the Pyrenean valleys.

Jaca is 30 km from the wintersport area of Canfranc which is 1560 m high and has 24 ski lifts and a total of 22 km of ski runs. At Astun 25 km away there are 14 ski lifts and 22 ski runs with a total length of 30 km. 94 snow machines guarantee snow.
